It Only Takes A Word: A "Fangirl" Parody

NICK:
You know what's kind of funny? Just seeing you sitting here all by yourself with your laptop. You remind me of someone I once knew.
God, by now she's well in middle age. Probably 41. 42.
CATH:
Huh. Thank you?
NICK:
What? Oh my god! No! No! No! No!
She was a teacher at my school, taught me how to write, which is cool.
Nice teeth and small hands.
And snuck me goodies I couldn't get to then.
But she was sweet too.
Reminds me of you.
CATH:
Hmm. Oh well no one ever really notices me that way so...
NICK:
Well I did right?
CATH:
Hmm?
NICK:
Yah, because you’re here with... with me. She'd write new stories every day. Like you I guess,
But I must say
if scenes were books, yours would be Shakespeare's letters.
You remind me of her,
but better.
It only takes a word when it's something special.
It only takes a word when you know it's good.
Sometimes one word is more than enough
to know you want more of the thing you just got a word of.
CATH:
That reminds me of a thing we would say.
Me and my sister in our bedroom when we'd write.
She'd say "Cath, you can tell the whole story with one word."
NICK:
Yah. No, that's exactly what I mean.
I swear that as all those scenes mixed and melted
I could hear the sirens sing.
It was truly something special.
One word and I want the whole thing.
I must say it felt like I was carried away. Intoxicated.
Made me escape the room I was in.
I can't help but wonder
How your hands must have felt writing such a masterful thing.
CATH:
Just one word caused all that wondering....
NICK:
It only takes a word...
NICK/CATH:
It only takes a word when you know it's good.
Sometimes one word is more than enough.
To know you want more of the thing you just got a word of.
